Everything about this conference was enlightening not only to other healthcare professionals and how they operate together in the industry, but also touched on many local Hawai’ian issues and bringing healthcare to rural areas. Much of what was also spoken about at this conference was related to taking care of not only the patients but also the providers themselves. Because if a provider is not operating at their best, they can not give the best patient care. Many speakers touched on caring for provider’s mental health and ensuring there are enough providers to balance the workload. The reality of working on the island is that there is deficit of providers that tend to be overworked.
